Prerna & Utsav

Prerna and Utsav chose The Lake Resort in Naukuchiatal for a wedding shaped by the stillness of the water and the surrounding hills. The lakeside location was central to the celebration, providing a natural backdrop that the design could frame rather than compete with.

Prerna came to the planning process with a clear vision for the atmosphere of each function. We developed that vision over the months leading up to the wedding, considering how flowers, colour and lighting would change the setting from one occasion to the next while keeping the lake in view.

The haldi introduced a generous floral treatment and a bright daytime mood. The sangeet followed with a more glamorous evening setting, giving music and celebration a different stage as the light changed. Each function had its own expression within the same lakeside setting.

The wedding mandap became the focal point of the final day. Flowers and greenery framed the ceremony, with the lake and hills visible beyond. In the couple’s jaimala photographs, the pale wedding attire, pink flowers and hanging foliage sit together in a soft, balanced composition.

For us, this wedding was an opportunity to bring a very personal brief into conversation with a distinctive venue. The photographs show that relationship at different scales: the sweep of the landscape, the floral details and the moments shared by Prerna and Utsav within the setting. They remain a lovely record of a celebration that belonged to both the couple and the place they chose.
