Haldi, sangeet and wedding | Dehradun
A celebration begins before you reach the stage. You meet it in the welcome, in the colours around you and in the places where you can pause with family and friends. For Virangana and Chirag at Glenville Resorts & Spa in Dehradun, we brought three distinct settings to life: a marigold haldi, a deep-green sangeet and a white-and-gold wedding beneath the garden trees. BnB Weddings handled the planning and decor across all three functions. Follow the entrances, seating and stages through the celebrations, and the character of each setting unfolds in a different way.

A haldi filled with marigolds
As you approach the haldi setting, orange drapes curve beneath a yellow canopy and a floral-patterned aisle leads your eye towards the couple’s seats. The garden stays visible around the edges. At the end of the aisle, two low, lotus-shaped seats sit side by side beneath a curtain of marigolds, their yellow cushions picking up the colour overhead. The effect is bright, warm and informal, with the couple’s place clearly at the heart of it.
Move closer and the backdrop becomes a collection of smaller details. Orange and yellow garlands fall at different lengths, with white bead tassels between them. Pale flowers rise from textured metallic vessels. Lotus-shaped accents and little bowls of petals sit near the floor, so there is as much to notice beside the seats as above them. We carried this palette from the stage into the welcome flowers, tablecloths and lounges. Those repeated touches connect the larger installation to the places where people can settle and spend time together.

The haldi setting and details
Around the stage, low lounges offer a closer, more relaxed scale than the tall canopy. Floral-print cushions soften the blocks of yellow and orange, while patterned tablecloths continue the detail within reach. Nearby, layered parasols bring in pink, blue and green. BnB’s decor brings these different sizes and textures together: the broad sweep of fabric, the paired seats, a flower-filled vessel and the small tassels moving down a garland. The warmth of the setting comes through in all of them.

Deep green and chandelier light
The sangeet changes the atmosphere as soon as you approach its entrance. Deep-green drapes frame a corridor edged with pink and white flowers, with chandeliers hanging one after another along the route. That repeated glow draws your attention ahead. Inside the wider setting, strings of light follow the folds of the overhead fabric, and white lounges face the floral stage. The green surrounds the space while the lighter seating and flowers give the eye places to rest.
The stage brings that feeling into focus. Curved gold-coloured frames rise at different heights against the green backdrop, with flowers and broad leaves winding around them. Small suspended lights sit among the curves. In front, the black-and-white geometric floor adds a bolder rhythm. From a seat beneath the canopy, the stage remains part of the view; closer to the floor, its flowers and hanging lights become the main detail. Our planning and decor connect these different vantage points through the same green fabric, floral colours and warm light.

Inside the sangeet setting
At the tables, green cloths and chair sashes surround raised arrangements of pink and white flowers. The colours from the entrance and stage continue into the places set out for guests. A console along the arrival route brings the lighting closer: candles at different heights catch the petals and glass holders in a warm glow. These smaller pools of light give the evening setting a more intimate feel beneath the chandeliers and the broad sweep of the canopy.

White and gold beneath the trees
For the wedding, the approach becomes lighter. White-draped gateways and flower-topped frames lead into the garden, where a white aisle runs between banks of flowers towards the stage. Look ahead and the two pale, gold-framed seats sit beneath a broad tree. Long white floral strings fall between its branches, with chandeliers suspended among them. Leaves and open spaces remain visible through the flowers, giving the setting an airy, unhurried feel.
The details gradually reveal themselves as you come closer. Flowers gather around the steps, taller gold-coloured forms stand beside the seats, and smaller white arrangements sit with lotus-shaped accents. The tree gives the setting its height; the flowers bring the detail back down to the aisle and stage. Across the lawn, white drapes and chandeliers frame the guest seating. Round tables, matching chair sashes and pale parasols extend the palette beyond the couple’s place. We brought the entrance, stage and surrounding lawn together through these shared materials and colours, giving the wedding its own softer character after the haldi and sangeet.

The wedding setting and details
From the floral gateways to the tables beneath the white-draped frames, the wedding setting keeps returning to the garden around it. The white flowers sit against green foliage, the gold-coloured details catch the light, and the open spaces between the hanging strands leave the tree in view. There is room for the larger setting to make an impression and for the smaller arrangements beside the seats to reward a closer look.

Bring your celebration to life
For BnB Weddings, planning and decor come together in these connections: how a welcome introduces the setting, how the stage sits within it, and how the same colours and details continue around the places where guests gather. Virangana and Chirag’s three functions gave those connections a different character each time. If you are planning at Glenville or elsewhere in Dehradun, tell us about your functions, the colours you love and how you would like the celebration to feel. We’d love to help bring those ideas into the setting around you.
